Oklahoma State -6.5 (-130) vs. Texas Arlington
Oklahoma State comes into this game a 6.5 point favorite and that is awfully low for how this game should shape up. The big question is how does Cade Cunningham perform in his first career game, the answer is great, he’s a potential #1 pick. KenPom has them winning by double digits and I fully expect a double digit win for the Pokes.
Evansville vs. Louisville under 132.5 total points
This is the first game for a new look Cardinals team that brings back only 1 of it’s top 5 contributors from last year. They’re facing an Evansville team that has a new coach who plays at a notoriously slow tempo and hasn’t been a head coach in 10 years. Chris Mack’s defense has been in the top 30 both years he’s been at UL and that looks like it’ll continue. With an overwhelming favorite and slow dog this has all the makings of a low scoring affair.
Pepperdine -2.0 (-115) vs. Cal Irvine
Pepperdine has a chance to surprise a lot of people in the WCC this year. And they will start off on the right foot tonight. Pepperdine returns Colbey Ross who averaged 20.5 PPG and 7.2 REB a year ago, along with Kessler Edwards who averaged 13.8 PPG and 7.5 REB last season. Also fun fact, the Waves are 7-2-1 ATS in their last ten games played at a neutral site. Take Pepperdine to win by two.
San Diego State +3.5 (-115) vs. UCLA
The Aztecs are coming off probably their best season in program history, and had it not been for COVID canceling March Madness, they would’ve been legit National Championship contenders. While the loss of second team All American Malachi Finn hurts a ton, this is still an extremely experienced team that is expected to start 4 seniors, including first team all-conference forward Matt Mitchell. UCLA brings back a lot of talent and this is no easy task for the Aztecs, but this is a team that knows how to win together and I believe that their depth and cohesiveness will wear out UCLA’s players. Expect SDSU to outlast the Bruins and win a close game.
