In his young career Mitch Robinson has been known for blocking shots, throwing down ferocious dunks, and being on the receiving end of alley-oops. It seems as if Robinson is expanding his game to behind the arc which could make him a top big man in the NBA within a few years.
While the NBA has been shutdown due to the coronavirus I have seen several videos of Robinson working on both ball handling and long-distance shooting. It seems as if his game is growing and expanding at a rapid pace. If this is something the 7-footer can actually use in game scenarios then Knick fans have something very exciting to look forward to.
When you think of elite big men in the NBA not many of them are traditional post up, stay in the paint kind of players anymore. Guys like Joel Embiid, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, KAT, and Anthony Davis all have one thing that separates them from the rest of the leagues big men. And that is that they all can shoot the 3-pointer. Having Mitch able to stretch the floor would be huge for the Knicks as it would allow for wider driving lanes for someone like RJ Barrett…and dare I say it…LaMelo Ball??
The Knicks really hit the lotto drafting Mitch Robinson in the second round of the 2018 draft. If he continues to expand on his game then he will be a giant factor in the Knicks success for years to come.
